I'm a Certified Somatic Coach
For the past year, I have been supporting clients in slowing down and tuning in to reconnect with themselves – without judgement, pressure, or need to “fix” anything, at a pace that serves and supports them.
Together we explore what is present for them, what might have been holding them back, what they want to move towards, what might resource and support them on their way there, and what becomes possible for them when they pause and begin noticing their breath.
The journey that has brought me here wasn’t linear or simple.
I have lived in 5 countries across Europe and in Asia, I worked in corporate environments, but also have been a stay-at-home mum for several years. I experienced burnout, depression and PTSD and through therapy, yoga, meditation and somatic practices I found a way back to myself.
These experiences and tools I have gathered along the way all helped me rebuild connection and trust, where there was fear; to soften where I have learnt to brace; and to show up for myself in a way that finally felt true and loving.
The shift that came from that process has inspired me to look for a professional path that would incorporate the modalities I found so healing. This is how I came across The Somatic School – ICF Certified Coaching Training and having went through the programme I certified as a Somatic Life Coach both for individuals and groups.

What is somatic coaching?
Somatic Coaching draws from the schools of somatic psychotherapy Gestalt, Hakomi and Systemic Constellations, it incorporates methodologies such as Focusing and the latest findings from Neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory and Embodied Cognition.
This body-oriented approach recognises the wholeness and interconnectedness of mind, body and spirit, where we connect our thinking minds with organic wisdom already present in our bodies.
What does that mean?
During the sessions we pay attention not only to the words, but we follow sensations, emotions, felt senses and imagination. We notice the body's natural responses to what is going on. This allows our understanding to expand and evolve. We engage the body through breath, postures, shapes, movement or stillness - working in this way helps us connect to the whole of our being. By using the body in coaching in such way we allow ourselves to wake up the untapped resources within and to break through old stories, frozen belief and stuck patterns.

Tension in the body, anxiety, our patterns or hidden beliefs, when noticed and welcomed tend to soften, ease and show us the way forward.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM
Working in somatic way using teachings from Polyvagal Theory can help us shift easier from states of agitation or resignation to more balanced and calmer ones.

BIG CHANGES OR DECISIONS TO MAKE
Fear of the unknown mobilises our nervous system and our protective mechanisms - parts of us that want to protect us. If we listen to them, they may offer their support without hijacking us.

reconnect WITH WISDOM WITHIN
There is deep organic wisdom hidden in our bodies - stories told through pains, sudden sensations, impulses we learnt to ignore, that hold the key to who we are and who we want to become.

overwhelm
Overflooded with tasks, options and stimuli, this never-ending chase wears us down. Powerful shifts can happen when we choose to pause, take a deep breath and just notice what's around us.

resourcING
When faced with a challenged we might feel like we lack support, we don't have the necessary tools or resources to achieve our goals - but more often then not we hold gifts and nourishment right there in our hearts and bones.

After you share with me what would you like to gain through this process or work towards, together we explore how might you get there, what resources might support you and what is available to you already.
Through gentle experiments and sometimes challenging questions, we get out of the thinking mind and more into the body, to discover how might it help you at the present moment.
